The Tech Skills team members have been involved with CAD since the early 1990’s when the transition from manual design and draughting accelerated and computers rapidly replaced drawing boards in most design offices.
AutoCAD was the most widely used design application and in its more than 35 years history there has been more than 30 versions of the software. Today there are many CAD applications available and widely used, though AutoCAD (2D and 3D) continues to be the market leader.
Building Information Modelling BIM is a new intelligent 3D model-based process that is changing how buildings, infrastructures and utilities are planned, designed, built and managed. BIM allow users to produce more creative designs while providing implementation plans to gain more insight and control of costs.
BIM is quickly becoming the tool of choice for Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) professionals
Revit is another relatively new building design software which helps Architects, Engineers and Designers to develop new concepts and better designs. Used in conjunction with BIM a more collaborative, integrated and efficient sustainable construction can be achieved.
