Project Engineer (Geometry & Drainage) Naas, Navan, Cork

My client is an Irish civil engineering consultancy that, through its work with many of Ireland’s biggest civil engineering contractors, has been involved in some of Ireland’s largest recent infrastructure projects. The company is dedicated to providing exceptional services in the execution of infrastructure projects and specialises in applying sound judgement in order to identify opportunities and provide solutions for our clients.

 

Due to significant growth within the team, my client is now looking to recruit a Project Engineer, who, in conjunction with working from home, can be based from either our Naas, Navan or Cork offices. The successful candidate will report into senior management and be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of projects, leading teams and ensuring delivery to the highest standards within the project timeframes. 

This position may suit someone with previous design experience who is looking to make the next step in their career or a candidate with construction experience in infrastructure projects seeking a role in a consultancy firm.

Project Engineer - The role

·      Participate in the delivery of linear infrastructure projects (Highways, Greenways, Active Travel Schemes).

·      Develop 3D modelling and digital output in Alignment, Drainage and / or other disciplines.

·      Provide supervision and training to junior members of staff.

·      Actively prioritise workload and manage time (including that of others).

·      Contribute to technical reports that establish design principles or explain designs.

·      Coordinate the development of design drawings

  • Participate in internal and external meetings and developing pricing submissions and resource plans
  • Any other duties, as deemed necessary, that fall within the remit and level of the position.

What you need – the skills and competencies

·      Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent professional qualification

·      Previous experience in geometry design OR pavement design OR Ancillary infrastructure design

·      Working towards Chartership report

·      Circa. 3 - 5 years’ engineering experience

·      Civil 3D, MX Roads, In Roads experience and experience in geometric design (or similar)

·      Civil 3D, WinDES, Flow experience and experience in drainage design (or similar)

·      Experience in working as part of multi-disciplinary teams

·      Able to multi-task confidently, with excellent management and organisational skills required

·      Good communication skills both written and verbal

·      Team player with the ability to work on own initiative, as required

·      Confident in using all Microsoft Office products

·      Knowledge of and demonstrable commitment to health and safety legislation and requirements

·      Full Driving License (preferable)

·      Current right to work in the Republic of Ireland
